Founding President

Kelby Woodard

Prior to accepting the position of the Founding President at Cristo Rey Dallas College Prep, Mr. Woodard co-founded two successful international-trade firms: Trade Innovations, Inc. and TRG Direct, LLC.  He had previously worked as the Director of Global Supply Chain Assets Protection for the Target Corporation where he designed and implemented their global security program spanning 84 countries and had served with the U.S. Customs Service.

From 2011 to 2014, Mr. Woodard served two terms as a member of the Minnesota House of Representatives.  There, he championed education reform and was elected by his peers as an Assistant Minority Leader and served as the Lead on K-12 education issues.  During his time in the House, Mr. Woodard strongly advocated for innovative approaches to solving the persistent achievement and ‘aspiration’ gap in urban America and authored the first school voucher bill to pass the House and the Senate in the state.  His colleagues and political observers recognized him as the Politics in Minnesota “Legislator to Watch” in 2013.

Mr. Woodard earned an MBA in International Business with a concentration in Latin American Studies from the University of Dallas and a Certificate in Global Security Management from Georgetown.  A Dallas native, he is a graduate of the University of North Texas and of Jesuit College Prep in Dallas.

Mr. Woodard can be reached at kwoodard@cristoreydallas.org or at 214-991-0704.
