Overview:

Cristo Rey Dallas College Prep is a Catholic, college preparatory school for students from households of low to moderate income. Cristo Rey Dallas nurtures and challenges young women and men of all faiths to recognize and realize their full potential as they grow to love God, respect others and serve their community. Each student participates in the Corporate Work Study Program which offers a weekly work study experience for all four years.

Anticipated Start Date:

On or before September 1

Purpose:

The Events Manager reports directly to the Director of Development and contributes to donor engagement primarily via event management. They are responsible for all event logistics, preparation, and ultimately event fundraising efforts. This may include, but is not limited to: tracking event sponsorships and donations, ordering materials, communicating with vendors, securing volunteers. This individual will work closely with the Director of Communications providing accurate event descriptions and promoting various events. The Events Manager is also responsible for several non-fundraising events, including community festivals, corporate relations events, and Graduation. Compensation and title for this position are based on qualifications and experience.

Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive plan for each event that includes budgets, timelines, team strategies, and vendor contract negotiation.
  • Manage event logistics from start to finish, including planning, guest list/database, invitation management, venue selection, programming and event production.
  • Manage the coordination of event logistics from initial planning stages to implementation.
  • Work proactively and in a timely manner with internal communications to ensure that Cristo Rey Dallas leadership and teammates are well-prepared for their respective roles in the event production.
  • Secure volunteers as needed for event execution
  • Provide communications support on all events
  • Oversee all aspects of event auctions.
  • Plan and execute creative, memorable, and engaging fundraising events that are on budget, and operationally excellent. To achieve this, collaborate closely with the development team, event chairs and committees, and board members.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to volunteers and foster relationships with donors, event chairs and board members.
  • Work with Director of Development and Director of Communications on event run of show, script writing, event program development, presentation and production.
  • Update the team budget and provide weekly reports.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications

  • Prior event planning and/or experience working in development preferred
  • Strong organization and logistical planning skills
  • Bachelor’s Degree

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal and networking skills with large groups as well as with individuals
  • Ability to initiate and build relationships with prospective donors, and interact via phone and in person with limited supervision
  • Detailed oriented and results driven
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Suite
  • Ability to prioritize work and remain deadline oriented
  • Enjoys open-ended creative goals
  • Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends as required
  • Passion for the mission

Compensation

  • Full-time, year-round position with competitive salary, benefits and paid vacation
Physical Requirements and Work Environment:
  • Regularly sit, talk, hear and interact with students, parents, staff and visitors
  • General event set-up or direction giving
  • Be able to occasionally lift up to 30 lbs.
  • Work at a desk and computer screen for extended periods of time
