Second Language

AP Spanish and Culture 1 The AP Spanish Language and Culture course emphasizes communication (understanding and being understood by others) by applying interpersonal, interpretive, and presentational skills in real-life situations. This includes vocabulary usage, language control, communication strategies, and cultural awareness. To best facilitate the study of language and culture, the course is taught  exclusively in Spanish.
Second Language Acquisition 1 Second Language Acquisition focuses on skills, both concrete and metacognitive, applicable to learning a foreign language. Students will be studying the concrete aspects of speaking, reading, writing, and listening in a foreign language (of choice - German, Spanish, Portuguese, or French) primarily through a self-paced, online platform, Duolingo. The concrete aspects of language will be applied to cultural studies and presentations.
