Adavia Thornton returns to the Cristo Rey network as a proud alumnae of Cristo Rey Kansas City. As a student she recognized the constant support students of the Cristo Rey network received and always had the desire to contribute back to the community that helps shape her future.
She received her Bachelor’s degree in English from Fairfield University in 2014. Upon graduation, she joined the Vincentian Service Corps West and spent a year volunteering at a nonprofit located on Los Angeles’ Skid Row. Her journey did not stop there. For the next three years she lived in New York City and worked for KIPP Infinity Middle School in Harlem and volunteered at local nonprofits focused on criminal justice reform. This past year she moved to Dallas and joined Step Up Women’s Network as a Teen Programs Facilitator.
Ms. Thornton now serves as a member of the CWSP team and is very passionate about supporting all students as they reach their full potential. She believes Cristo Rey is a part of her foundation and is passionate about the positive change it brings to all who come in contact with the network.
