Laura Einspanier is a recently retired American Airlines executive where she served from 1991 to 2014. From May 2012 to January 2014, she served as Vice President – Employee Relations where she was responsible for relations with all of the carrier’s employee groups, including negotiating new labor agreements with American’s unions during its restructuring. She also had oversight of a team of Human Resource professionals responsible for policy and advice and counsel to managers across the company.
From 2001 to mid-2012, Einspanier worked in American’s Corporate Real Estate department which she led as Vice President starting in January 2003. In that capacity, she was in charge of all of American’s facility and real estate activities worldwide, including acquisition, divestiture, and development of airport properties, maintenance facilities and office buildings.
Einspanier, an attorney, joined American in its Legal Department in 1991 ultimately becoming Associate General Counsel of Litigation in 1996, which position she held until moving to the Corporate Real Estate department as Managing Director of Properties. Prior to joining American, Einspanier was a trial attorney in private practice for seven years with Jenkens & Gilchrist, P.C. specializing in commercial litigation.
Einspanier currently is a member of the Advisory Board for Brock Solutions, a Canadian based global professional services and engineering solutions company that delivers real-time operational and process solutions for broad based industrial/manufacturing and transportation/logistics organizations.
On the non-profit front, in addition to Cristo Rey Dallas, Einspanier serves on the Board of TACA (The Arts Community Alliance) a non-profit organization which champions artistic excellence in performing arts by funding grants and providing services exceeding $1.6 million in 2015 to performing arts organizations in Dallas County.
Einspanier is a graduate from the University of Texas at Austin where she received her Bachelor of Arts degree with highest honors in 1980 and Juris Doctor with honors in 1984.
Laura and Jim, her husband of 30 years, have two children: Sarah and Andrew.
