Joseph P. Wilbert, Jr. (“Joe Pete”) is formerly the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Central Hardwoods, Inc., a Dallas-based distributor of hardwood lumber products, windows, doors and custom millwork and manufacturer of custom moldings, furniture components, and hardwood flooring. Joe Pete served in management and board positions with Central Hardwoods from 1971 until his retirement in 2010.
He also served on the Board of Directors of A. Wilbert Sons, LLC from 1989 to 2014. Founded in 1848, AWSLLC is engaged in agriculture, timber management and oil & gas production.
Joe Pete is an alumnus of Jesuit High School of Dallas and graduated from the University of Notre Dame with a BBA in Finance. He is most proud of his Masters’ degree in Business in Administration from the University of Texas. He also holds a degree from the Owner/President Management Program at Harvard University.
Joe Pete has extensive civic leadership experience having served on the boards Montserrat Jesuit Retreat House, Catholic Charities of Dallas, the Salesmanship Club of Dallas, the Jesuit College Prep Alumni Association, Ursuline Academy of Dallas Parents Association and Diocese of Dallas Education Trust Fund.
He has been recognized for his community service by Jesuit College Prep in 1990 as the recipient of the Distinguished Alumnus Award. He received the University of Notre Dame Award of the Year in 2001 and the National Philanthropy Day Award from the Greater Dallas Chapter of Association of Fundraising Professionals in 2005.
