Over the last 17 years, Susy Pérez has worked in education in various capacities. Her experience has ranged from pre-kindergarten to undergraduate education. Before joining Cristo Rey Dallas College Prep, Ms. Pérez worked as the Assistant Director of Parish Episcopal School’s after-school enrichment program and the Director of High School Placement at KIPP TRUTH Academy. Her engagement with students and families at KIPP convinced Ms. Pérez of the need for urban education reform.
Ms. Pérez, a native of Mexico City, moved to the United States at the age of six. Throughout Ms. Pérez’s childhood, her family emphasized the power of a good education to eradicate the obstacles that often result from a disadvantageous socio-economic status. With the invaluable support and encouragement of her mom, grandmother and her late-grandfather, she earned a Master’s degree in human relations and business from Amberton University and a Bachelor’s degree in business administration in international business administration with a minor in Spanish from The University of Texas at Arlington.
Ms. Pérez is excited to help students and families attain the American Dream through the power of education, as she has done in her own life.
She and her husband, Kris, welcomed their first child, a bouncing baby boy. They also have a four-legged daughter named Meche.
