Jessenia Vidales grew up in the Rio Grande Valley of Texas. She received her B.S. in Psychology with a minor in Spanish and went on to receive her Masters in Public Administration from the University of Texas-Rio Grande Valley.
Ms. Vidales began her work with high school students during a work/study job assignment in college. She partnered with several local high schools advising students through the transition from high school to college. Soon after graduating she worked with truant high school students in the Austin school district. Through her mentoring work in Austin, she helped students break negative attendance habits and regain the ability to graduate on time.
Her passion for serving students who lack access to quality education led her to Cristo Rey Dallas, where she serves as the Student and Family Support Coordinator for students and families. Ms. Vidales also works to create media content for Cristo Rey Dallas, showcasing the student and family culture. In her spare time she juggles life with three dogs, camps and hikes, gardens, and travels to visit family in the Rio Grande Valley.
